About TCA
The TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) Peel, is an effective intermediate to deep peeling agent, excellent for correcting skin flaws and rejuvenating the skin; gives dramatic results every time. TCA peels are ideally suited for people who have undergone other peel treatments and now require a deeper peel for more effective results. TCA actively treats surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes, and pigmentation problems. TCA can be used for face, neck and hand areas. The face may be uncomfortable initially, and mild swelling may occur. Skin will achieve optimal rejuvenation and color restoration approximately, at week 3 to week 6. For optimal results, TCA peels should be performed in a series of 3 treatments 4 weeks apart. Use the peel subsequently every 60-90 days apart. Some clients may only require a single treatment of TCA to achieve desired results. Others may have to continue undergoing the peel every 60-90 days. In some cases clients may require a touch up or a second peel. Wait approximately 4-6 weeks before applying another TCA peel or touch up.
LIFT – LIGHTEN – CLEAR
Dermasurface Radiance TCA Peel is a resurfacing treatment that provides the spa or medical office a light TCA peel designed to progressively, tighten, lift, smooth and exfoliate the skin. This treatment is extremely versatile and beneficial for a variety of skin types and skin concerns. It is particularly excellent for aging, menopausal and sluggish skin.
The Radiance TCA peel can be used as a dynamic stand-alone facial treatment, or integrated with protocols that include microdermabrasion and LED light therapies for advanced applications.
A step up from the basic peels, and very specialized for clients wanting the results of a slightly deeper peel that will usually provide light, yet notable peeling during the first week. Peeling varies from client to client, depending upon many factors. Some clients will get very red for a few days, some clients will peel more than others. Below is our facial protocol that gives the client the most exfoliation. Should you want to avoid the peeling, perform the TCA without the Vitamin A Peel. The Vitamin A Peel, when applied after the Radiance TCA Peel will create much more peeling and is excellent for non-sensitive clients that want a light peel, but to see the skin actually peel. For the best outcome: All clients receiving this peel should have been using pretreatment products for at least two weeks. Pre-treatment ingredients would include AHA’s , BHA’s and skin lightening agents if hyperpigmentation is a concern. It is recommended that all clients receiving the Advanced TCA Peel with Vitamin A, schedule a post-facial 7-10 days later to restore, balance and hydrate the skin is essential.

It is recommended that the Radiance TCA Facial Peel be performed in a series of three, about 4 weeks apart.
TCA Peeling is very popular due to its flexibility and safety profile when performing a light epidermal peeling. This is not a peel for a first time client. It is for a client that you have already had some experience with and has been exposed to lighter peeling agents such as Glycolic, Salicylic and/or Lactic Acid peels.
The Radiance TCA facial peel is different than traditional AHA peels in that it searches out epidermal and dermal protein in the skin to neutralize itself. In some clients the skin will slightly frost and in other clients they will just get pink and you will notice some slight erythema. As will all clients, there are always risks when performing peels, so it is always best to begin less aggressively on the first treatment and see how they do. Keep in mind that TCA is a powerful chemical and as with all peels, there are potential risks, including but not limited to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, breakouts, scarring and temporary redness and photo-sensitivity.
This peel is ideal for men and women who are concerned with the signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, acne scars and texture problems. The results last longer than lighter (AHA), resurfacing peels. When the client leaves the office their skin will look slightly pink, but look healthy and there will be little if any downtime. The skin will peel lightly on some clients and heavier on others, and will usually take 5-10 days, depending upon the client, their skin condition, how well prepped the skin is, how you perform the procedure, and weather you incorporate the Vitamin A Peel with it.

- Using firm strokes, apply the coat of solution to the face. Begin at At the forehead and go around the face, lastly under the eyes *. Client will feel stinging for a few minutes, which will subside. *You may use a cotton tip applicator (Q-Tip) for under the eye area if desired, just be careful to stay at least 1/8 “ away from the eye.
